Chris

Chris is my darling husband who I met while working at the Burnaby Home Depot. Chris is 12 years older than me, he's shy and we're complete opposites. I'm loud and obxoxious - he's quiet and polite. I like country music - he likes his hair nation. We couldn't be more different from one another but I love it because it makes life fun. He makes me laugh and he makes me shake my friggin head sometimes, but most importantly he makes me the happiest that I've ever been. The boy is mine.

Heather

Heather and I met at Capilano University (nee College) in 2003. We were both taking the same history class in which I hated and then we ended up in a Geology class which guess what . . .  I hated. Our friendship grew and grew but not without its faults. Down the road she came to work at Home Depot where eventually I became her boss. Working with her was just awesome because I knew I never had to worry about my department if she was there. Then all of a sudden we grew up. Heather had a baby in March of 09 and I got married in August. Even though she had a 5 month old son to take care of and in laws coming over from the other side of the country - she STILL made it to my wedding 4 hours out of town and walked down the aisle as one of my bridesmaids. Heather is probably one of the closest friends I've ever had and I'm ever so thankful to have Sleevey in my life!

Mom and Andre

Mom and Andre ( my brother calls them Liandre) live in a little town called Kaleden. Don't try to find it on a map cause you won't. Andre drives trucks for Canada Post and my mom co-owns a traffic control company. Andre is French Canadian and he's an awesome guy. We love him and I'm glad he's with my mom. The thing I love about Andre is that he likes to call the dogs and cats rude names in French. He once called the dog a 'gross vache'. I thought he called her a croissant. Once in awhile my mom will throw out some French slang and she just makes me laugh. The thing I love about my mom the most is that she is like a sister. She gets into mom mode and yells at me once in awhile but there isn't anything I can't tell her and she's always there if you need her. I'm glad she's MY mom.

Dad

My dad is unique. Really he's like no other. He's one of those guys who likes to talk with his hands a lot and he gets a lot of advice from his longshormen friends. When arguing, his favorite line is "I've talked to 5 guys at the hall. . . . " and if he gets really bold its "I've talked to 50 guys at the hall . . . ". Cracks me up everytime. It used to piss me off a lot when I was younger. My dad is cool though. He might yell at you or tell you to eff off but really he's a big softie. Growing up, he didn't have much and I think thats probably why he worked so hard to try and give his kids everything. No matter what - even if he's mad at you - he'll always help you out. I am thankful for my dad everyday.

Jeromy, Kristel, Karla & Taylor

Jeromy is my older brother. The older brother who told my husband that I used to eat butter by the spoonfuls which in fact is very untrue. Now, I can't go through a single meal without a comment being made about my 'love' for butter. Thanks Jer. Kristel is my sister in law and mother of their two daughters. She's a good mom and her kids always look stylin'. They could be models and so could she. Oooh and she makes damn good stuffing too. Karla and Taylor are my nieces and offspring of said brother and sister in law. They are cute, fiery little redheads who like to induce laughter by doing or saying crazy things. Karla once called me a doobyskock. It was the funniest thing I've ever heard in my life. They are the best nieces ever.

Kurtis & Aaron

Kurtis & Aaron are my younger brothers who were always referred to as "The Boys" when we were growing up. I used to see them every second weekend or so when we were younger because they lived with their mom. Now the only time I see them is on Facebook. Hah. Kurtis has graduated and gone off to college. He likes to play the guitar and pretend that he's Kurt Cobain. Growing up, Aaron was always the one who never gave a shit about anything that was going on. He was always indifferent and his opinion was "I don't care." Lets call him Switzerland shall we? Being the youngest he got picked on a lot too. Kurtis used to beat the crap out of him when no one was looking and I used to pinch his cheeks. Now he's growed up a little and no one will touch him cause he fights back. We always knew that would happen. I miss the good ole days.

Grandma McLean

My wonderful Grandma is my biggest fan. Her and I have been best buddies all my life. I think I've spent probably about 50% of my life with her. Growing up she babysat me. She taught me how to sing nursery rhymes at the age of 2 and thanks to her and my grandpa I was reading at the age of 4. Every weekend we would head down to Hastings Racecourse and bet on the horsies. I bet you I was the only 2 year old who knew what a triactor was aka trifecta.  By the time I was 3, I knew that Bold Laddie and Three Martinis were some great horse lines and they'd always win. By the time I was 4, I knew that Chris Loseth and Dave Wilson were two of the best jockeys at Hastings. I had a blast growing up with Grandma. She still insists on living by herself, even after all the bouts of cancer and a major stroke. She is so strong. I only hope to be like her one day.

Roxy

Roxy is my dog. Sometimes I think only she understands me. She is a Papillon X Pomeranian but everyone thinks she is a Chihuahua. She is teeny tiny and weighs in at only 5lbs. We got her in September of 09 and it was kinda by fluke. I fell asleep on the couch one night and Chris came out at 6am to get me to come to bed. I couldn't fall back asleep so I went online and searched for puppies - for something to do. I found an ad on Kijiji that was JUST put up advertising her for sale in Langley. I knew that she was my puppy instantly. I had NEVER seen such a cute animal. I ran into our bedroom and made Chris get outta bed to come and look at her. At 10am I called the lady to ask if I could come take a look at her and Chris couldn't really believe it. He thought I was nuts. Anyway, we went out to her house and she told us a sad story of how she bought Roxy (previously Ella) a week before and she just wasn't working out with her other dogs. Chris and I bought her on the spot and we couldn't be happier with our cheeky little catdog. Actually thas a lie, if she stopped peeing on our floor we'd be happier.
